About Student Developers

We started this Facebook group,https://www.facebook.com/groups/studentdevelopers a few months back within our college to share opportunities like hackathons, startup fundings/news, and placement opportunities among college developer groups. In just 6 months, we now have 700+ developers from 4 countries.

Our Journey

We (the technical community of Galgotias University, Team TechnoJam) delivered our first workshop in August 2018 with 30 participants. Being in a tier-3 college, it was difficult to find good teachers for more interesting topics like ML, Voice, VR/AR, so we started delivering talks. After few initial workshops, we created a GU Student Developers Group on WhatsApp for the students of Galgotias University to keep them updated with upcoming events and sharing information. We found that many new folks, whom we never interacted with were interested in solving problems and teaching others. In 1 year the group of developers grew to 450+ on WhatsApp, 450 developers in one college.

This year in January, we got the idea that similar problems were also being faced by students from different colleges and schools. We also delivered a talk in Pragyan School for students of class 6th to 10th and found them to be very interested. We started another WhatsApp group, with the name Student Developers which soon got transferred to a facebook group.

Now we continue interacting with many developers daily and learn from the community.
