Using python and associated tools (Scikits/SciPy/NumPy, R, Disco) for data analysis and business intelligence. The focus of the actual samples is likely to be econometric, social and business data.

Outline

The talk will expect audience to be well versed in Python. It will

  • Provide a summary of some of the important toolsets (eg. SciKits / SciPy / NumPy / R / Disco)
  • Demonstrate a number of examples where python and these toolsets are used to analyse publicly available datasets to extract information and intelligence out of them.
