Outline

Although the talk will go into the technical aspects of the software, the focus will be more on the process of building the application, the problems of getting an open source application accepted, the problems of hosting the application with limited resources at an acceptable speed and also a description of how such software has leveraged entry into the boardrooms of business and industry and helped to spread the awareness of the immense utility of open source in general and python in particular in these places.

Kenneth Gonsalves has been using python to try and get his computers to do what he wants for the past 7 years. He mainly uses django and does web applications and has published a fair amount of software in http://bitbucket.org/lawgon/ and other places. He is also an internationally certified golf refereee and has refereed tournaments at the regional and national level.
