Summary

The talk will mainly focus on NoSQL technology. It will start by answering questions like: what is nosql? How is it useful for the developers? It will discuss its current usage scenario and its market niche. After this, a quick tutorial on mongodb(which is one of the popular nosql database) using python drivers(Pymongo) will be demonstrated with hands-on tutorial. The talk will conclude on a quick SWOT analysis and future of NoSQL. Note: A little experience with python will be beneficial. However the databases can be accessed using command line itself.

The NoSQL is a vast concept. This talk will cover only the fundamentals. Using python is one of the ways to talk to NoSQL database since they have support for almost all major languages.

Harsh has been in the Education and Research Department at Infosys Mysore for almost 2 years. He teaches and conducts workshops on open source technologies such as UNIX (scripting, development and profiler tools), Perl, C++ among others, for the Infosys employees and trainees.
